FIRST THING IN THE MORNING premiered in the Edurne art Gallery in Madrid (C/Justiniano) in 2003. There it was played for a month, and was distributed as part of the CD IN THE ROOM. This CD was part, in turn, of the Violeta Andreu solo exhibition INHABITED SPACES.

FIRST THING IN THE MORNING It is conceived from everyday domestic sounds produced by a woman from the moment she gets up at home until she leaves, after performing various daily tasks before departing. This movement from inside to outside the home involves transcending the private sphere in search of the public sphere by women.
