HIGH VISIBILITY/ALTA VISIBILIDAD

HIGH VISIBILITY/ ALTA VISIBILIDAD is presented as a performance but also includes other formats: video performance, photographic animation, AI-enhanced photography, and kitchen drawings.

Violeta Andreu addresses the issue of visibility for visual artists. The idea is to make their needs visible, promoting best practices focused on equality; to encourage support for contemporary artistic creation in Madrid's museums and art galleries; and to foster the participation and involvement of the city's citizens. To achieve this, she uses her body postures; the transformation of cardboard; and high-visibility work vests that provide continuity to the performance through on-site photographs for later sharing on social media.

During the performance, the cardboard is torn and transformed into various protest posters that become vestiges of it and remain in the possession of members of the public, as well as the written vests.

KITCHEN DRAWINGS/ DIBUJOS DE COCINA
ART AND GASTRONOMY

KITCHEN DRAWINGS is a series of six drawings that portraits six performers. The drawings are made on the kitchen tiles while preparing six different recipes in six days. They respond to the six performances carried out in the Cycle UN AGUACERO, organized by MAV in 2023. The meals cooked in KITCHEN DRAWINGS are:

PERFORMANCE CYCLE UN AGUACERO

UN AGUACERO is a six performances cycle, organized by MAV on the occasion of International Museum Day of the year 2023, which takes place from May 18 to 21 th in six cultural spaces in the city of Madrid, three museums and three independent spaces.

The performances are executed by women artists, from gender and/or feminist perspectives, from the selection of a jury after a national public competition.
