Inhabitated Spaces/Espacios Habitados
The multidisciplinary project Inhabited Spaces/Espacios Habitados explores domestic space in relation to public space; other times, it investigates the relationship with everything that happens inside. The works start from the emptying of a house, an apartment and she uses wooden sculptures, —on which she also writes—, photography, painting, drawings or electroacoustic music.
Espacios Habitados/Inhabited Spaces was exhibited at the Edurne Gallery in 2003 in Madrid (Spain), invading the gallery space, painting on one of its walls and premiering In the Room, an electroacoustic creation that was played in a loop for the duration of the exhibition which includes the works A primera hora, Expansión 5.22, In the Room and Spiral. All the electroacoustic works by Violeta Andreu are based on sounds recorded from the environment, in the case of In the Room and A primera Hora, the domestic sounds and, from her voice.
Part of this work was taken by the Fúcares Art Gallery in Madrid to Arte Santander in 2003.
