The house in visual artistic creation and its relationship with feminism (from 1970 to 2020)
The house in visual artistic creation and its relationship with feminism (from 1970 to 2020)
This book analyses the relationship between visual art practice based on the idea of the house and feminism from the 1970s to 2020. It starts with a description of the development of the feminist movement that began in this period, as well as the artistic activity on the house linked to it. It studies this creation and the link it has maintained since then with the movement, exploring the importance of this relationship with the artistic discourse. Then, through an analysis based on creative concepts, the causes underlying the visual artistic creations on the idea of the house by relevant artists of this period are studied. Throughout this analysis, a chronography is shown in which artists, works and social events are visualised and which grows as the work progresses. Finally, reflections and proposals are formulated to transform the current social model in order to achieve a fairer and more egalitarian society with this type of creation.

Semiotics of the House
In this performance, Andreu assumes the double role of artist and inhabitant of a house. and performs a remake of the performance Semiotics of the Kitchen that Martha Rosler performed in 1975. This, in turn, parodied Julia Child's cooking television program from the sixties. The work, like Rosler, replaces, in this case, artistic concepts about the house with abrupt signs of frustration.
Andreu, thus, also demonstrates with anger the identification of women with domestic care and, mainly, with the fact that it is the most dangerous place for them, as it is the space where the most violence against women develops.
By showing the domestic space identified with the artistic one, her gestures are also a protest against the treatment that women receive in the art world, their invisibility and therefore, the existing inequality.
The artist presents this house-museum-workshop space as a space of change and transformation.
